For Students
  • Please arrive at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh Music Hall, 4400 Forbes Avenue, by 2:45 p.m. on Friday, February 28th. The ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m.

  • If you are one of the honored students, the ribbon that was enclosed in your invitation should be worn on the left side of your lapel. Honored students who attend the ceremony will receive a University of Pittsburgh pin which was designed for this occasion to signify their academic success.

  • During the ceremony, you will be asked to stand as a group with other academic or honorary fraternity awardees. Your name, although not announced during the ceremony, will appear in the printed program. Additional copies of the program will be available in the Office of Special Events, 1200 Bruce Hall, following the ceremony.

  • The Convocation is open to the public, and your family is encouraged to attend.

  • Please feel free to invite faculty members who have encouraged and assisted you throughout your academic career to attend with you.

  • If you have a disability and require special accommodations in order to fully participate in the ceremony, please contact the Office of Special Events at 412-624-7100. We ask for your cooperation in notifying us as soon as possible.

For Faculty
  • Please arrive at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh Music Hall, 4400 Forbes Avenue, by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28th.

  • Faculty who wish to participate in the academic procession will assemble in the faculty area, which is to the right of the main entrance. You may get dressed in your regalia at this time.

  • Faculty who do not wish to participate in the academic procession may enter and be seated within the Music Hall. There is no reserved seating for faculty who do not process.

  • If you are a faculty member being honored, we ask that you pin the ribbon that was enclosed in your invitation on the left side of your robe or lapel.

  • During the ceremony, all honored faculty will be recognized as a group, not individually. Your name, although not announced during the ceremony, will appear in the printed program. Additional copies of the program will be available in the Office of Special Events, 1200 Bruce Hall, following the ceremony.

  • The Convocation is open to the public, and your family is encouraged to attend.
